Hi All!
Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are geared for 2012, because it is here and it is going to be a fantastic year, I can just feel it! So I thought I would give you some tips for a healthy mouth, you may have heard these before, but a little reminder doesn't hurt :)
1. 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away' - Did you know that an apple contains Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Niacin, Folate, Pantothenic Acid , Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K and other vitamins in small amounts. It also contains Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Manganese, Iron, Sodium, Copper, Zinc and trace amount of other minerals. You diet is essential to your overall mouth and overall health. Many nutrient deficiency are first seen in the oral cavity from bleeding gums to mouth sores, so make sure you have your apple today!
2. Flossing- I know its not your favorite thing to do, but flossing is essential to your teeth and gum health (which relate to you're overall health) so pick up a new hobby this year....... FLOSSING!!!
3. Brush- at least 2x a day for 2 minutes. Make sure you brush really well right before bedtime, because during the night is when most damage is done because we are not swallowing or drinking, therefore all the food you ate during the day is rotting between your teeth if its not mechanically removed!!!! Have I mentioned how much I looooove electric toothbrushes? They do a great job.
4. See your dentist regularly. Make sure to stay up with your routine check-ups. Gum disease has been linked to numerous diseases and aliments (if you haven't heard I can give you the never ending list)
5. Make sure your loved ones and friends are caring for their mouth and have a dentist they see regularly, did you know:
